Did you ever try to promote a festival in Marseilles, one of Europe ́s most dangerous cities? A strict city advertising ban and gangs, who are defending their hoods against motivated promoters, are the premises, which the city offers.

In moonlight operations the whole city got infected by the MINI UNITED festival fever created by hard-bitten guerilleros of the Munich based agency future:headz.

Henceforth grid girl stickers bedecked traffic lights throughout the city center of Marseilles. Checkered flags triggered the motto of this year ́s festival: “Friends.Festival.Racing.”

Shadow messages paved the asphalt of Marseilles streets by night. During the day the sun replaced the street lights and projected MINI UNITED on the streets.

The festival buzz has spread over Southern France like wildfire. More than 20.000 music and MINI enthusiasts impelled to the festival site at the Le Castellet race track. There they lived to see not only the fastest MINI cars of the world, but also famous music acts like Iggy Pop and the Stooges, The Ting Tings and Gossip.
