Innovation the excites, that’s what Nissan is supposed to be all about. Based on their latest marketing stunt, they seem to know exactly what they are talking about.
It’s projection mapping but it’s projection mapping like you have never seen before.
Projection mapping may still be considered young but it is already one of the most used marketing tool around the world. This early, I feel like I have seen everything Projection Mapping has to offer. That is until I saw the new Nissan campaign.
Instead of doing the predictable thing, projecting something on walls or buildings, Nissan projected something on water. As if that is not impressive enough, they projected a drifting Nissan car on water. The splashing water, the light tower, and the car floating on water like Jesus Christ is riding it, make it one heck of a show.
Aesthetically, I have seen more projection mapping stunts with more elaborate visuals. This one simply combines water with a drifting car but the mere fact that this is the first time I have seen it done on water makes it exciting for m. It also makes the brand a bit more hip in my eyes.
