The Buddy Stamp Bar QR Code

Turquoise Cottage, a bar/restaurant in New Delhi, took the QR concept to the bar scene. They wanted to encourage patrons to have a fun, exciting and responsible night. Knowing that typical patrons in the area typically went out drinking for 5 hours, they wanted to create a campaign where they could provide a unique experience. Introducing the Buddy Stamp.

The Buddy Stamp was a replacement of the typical bar stamp that one received upon entering the bar. Instead of the typical bar stamp, they replaced it with a QR code. When the QR code was scanned from 8pm – 10pm, patrons received bar offers and discounts on some of their favorite drinks. From 10pm to 6am, the QR code scan provided local cab service numbers. From 6am to 4pm, the QR code scan provided hangover tips.

It’s a somewhat interesting concept that utilizes the same QR code for several different interactions.

Over 85% of bar patrons with smartphones used the Buddy Stamp in the club and shared their evening on Facebook.

Giving Dogs a Voice Using QR Codes

If you’ve ever been to San Joaquín, Chile, you might notice stay dogs roaming the streets. The mayor of San Joaquín decided to offer a special “service” on the government website where they offer to kill these dogs.

That’s where the Fundadora Proanimal Chile comes in. The Fundadora Proanimal Chile hired agency Satvia to create a social movement where the people can participate to dismiss the mayor of San Joaquin who is responsible for the killings.

In this campaign, they placed QR codes around these dogs so that onlookers could scan their tags and see what was going on. The tags read, “In San Joaquin they are killing us” and “Quit Sergio Echeverria” (Sergio is the Mayor of that state).

When the tags were scanned, it brought up a letter that was written in the voice of the dog. It also contained a link to a video where people could see what was happening.

This is a prime example of Guerrilla Marketing and creative job hunting that will help you land your dream job!

“I realized during my previous job search that getting an interview at a communication agency is the hardest part of the process,” says Petit. “I tried to create a CV that would enable me to express myself vocally as soon as they read the paper version. The combination of a sheet of paper and a QR code felt like the best way to reach that goal.”

This out-the-box thinking certainly breaks the monotony of traditional resume examples. As social media becomes more integrated into reality, we can only expect to see more creative resume examples such as this one. It is also important to note that this example landed Victor the internship he was looking for.
