There seems to be a marketing tactic we’re seeing a lot of recently. I’d like to call it the “do this for that” effect. The campaign that comes to mind that did this very well was the “Push to add drama” campaign by TNT Benelux by Duval Guillaume Modem. It’s where a button or switch of some sort is placed in a unique location in which it’s mystery is so intense that random people feel the need to interact with it. It’s a great strategy that always seems to get a great reaction.
Well Publicis decided to create another fun experience based on this effect for Bosca Ceoil. The agency placed a music box on a signage board and waited for people to turn the handle. Once someone did, people would start coming out of the woodwork and start playing live celtic music.
